IMPORTANT UPDATE
BMCC is updating our website! The website may be down for periods of time during the transition starting on May 21st, 2024. For a few weeks after the transition we will have a link to this old website to give folks the opportunity to find content before we fully retire the old media and content. If you have questions or concerns please submit a ticket at support.bmcc.edu so the IT team can assist you.

Welcome new students, faculty, and staff! If you're having trouble accessing your BMCC email, Moodle, Student Records, etc. you can submit a ticket at support.bmcc.edu.

BMCC uses the Starfish platform for student engagement. Starfish is a great tool to connect faculty, staff, and students in order to better support students and their academic success. Students will have an opportunity to design their own profile page, which allows access to scheduling appointments and communicating with faculty and staff.

Faculty can send an early alert raised flags for academic concerns, kudos to praise for a job well done and referrals to refer to students to the right staff member.

Please create your Starfish profile and use the flags, referrals, and kudos for students. The earlier the student services support staff can reach out to students in need of help, the better.

Faculty who are new and not familiar with Starfish, please click on the how-to short videos that show you how to set up your profile and use the Starfish tools.

BMCC uses the Starfish Degree Planner platform to allow students to explore available programs at our institution.  Degree Planner is a great tool that allows students and advisors to create degree plans including “what if” plans for as many programs as requested. Degree Planner helps students to select courses that fulfill their chosen program requirements. It also helps students and advisors in managing what courses students need to take each semester and monitoring student progress towards completion.  BMCC does not utilize Degree Planner as a registration tool, so it is important for students to consult with their academic advisor during their time at BMCC. Students will still need to be registered for courses in Student Records/Empower.
