After the FAFSA is signed and submitted to the U.S Department of Education, an analysis of the information will be released to BMCC. BMCC’s Financial Aid office will send you an award letter listing the types and amounts of aid for which you are eligible, or verification paperwork. If you are selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education, you must complete the process prior to being awarded any funding (please see the question below for further detail).

You should start by applying for a FSA ID (a username and password) through the U.S. Department of Education. Then you will need to gather the documents needed to complete the FAFSA.
