TRiO

Student Support Program

Information and applications are available in the SSS offices, located in the Administration building. Potential participants must complete necessary paperwork to be considered for acceptance.  After the completion of application and assessment process, applicants will be notified by the TRiO/SSS Director regarding program acceptance.

The Student Support Services program provides opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements, and to motivate students toward the successful completion of their post-secondary education. Our Student Support Services (SSS) project provides fall and spring grant aid to current eligible SSS participants who are receiving the Federal PELL Grant. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants. (U.S. Department of Education).

What is TRiO/SSS?

Our nation has asserted a commitment to providing educational opportunity for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background, or economic circumstance. In support of this commitment, Congress established a series of programs to help disadvantaged Americans enter college, graduate and move on to participate more fully in America's economic and social life. 

To be eligible for acceptance and qualify for the free services offered through SSS, students must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident. One must also demonstrate the academic need and meet at least one of the following: ·Are a first generation college student and/or ·Demonstrate financial need and/or ·Have a documented disability
