Welcome new students, faculty, and staff! If you're having trouble accessing your BMCC email, Moodle, Student Records, etc. you can submit a ticket at support.bmcc.edu.
Whether you are interested in human health, natural resources, fisheries and wildlife, fieldwork, or laboratory work – BMCC is a great place to start! The General Science program offers a number of unique opportunities for undergraduate students, including hands-on training in the state of the art equipment, both in the field and in the lab. Students are even offered the opportunity to work with equipment at other facilities across the nation. All general science students complete a capstone project, which allows students to spend time in their field of choice, conduct small-scale research, and exemplify communication skills. Students are encouraged to participate in internship programs, both on and off-campus, as well as attend and present at regional and national conferences. This experience will help you in finding a job or gaining admittance to the 4-year degree program of your choice.
This curriculum is primarily designed for students who wish to transfer to another institution to pursue education beyond an associate degree. All students wishing to transfer should work closely with an advisor to determine course selection and should investigate the transferability of courses.
This program meets the Michigan Transfer Agreement requirements.

“While at BMCC I was able to get experience in the scientific field and was given opportunities I most likely wouldn’t have received otherwise.”
-- Jacob Baker, transferred to Lake Superior State University in the Fisheries and Wildlife program. He is currently gaining hands-on experience at Chippewa Ottawa Resource Authority (Sault Ste. Marie) working with fish populations in the Great Lakes.
“I cannot say enough about the positive impacts BMCC had on my higher education. After graduating with an Associates of General Science, I left BMCC well prepared when transferring on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at a four-year university. BMCC’s small class sizes, dedicated faculty, and top-notch facilities are a recipe for student success. I highly recommend BMCC to any student seeking a positive higher education experience.”
-- Cody Jodoin, 2013 BMCC Graduate. Cody transferred to Lake Superior State’s University’s (LSSU) biology program. At LSSU, he worked with faculty on to present his senior project, “Assessment of Lake Sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens) Spawning in a St. Mary’s River Tributary”. He completed his bachelor’s at LSSU in 2017.
