For a few weeks after the transition we will have a link to this old website to give folks the opportunity to find content before we fully retire the old media and content. If you have questions or concerns please submit a ticket at support.bmcc.edu so the IT team can assist you.

Welcome new students, faculty, and staff! If you're having trouble accessing your BMCC email, Moodle, Student Records, etc. you can submit a ticket at support.bmcc.edu.

News

May 4, 2022

Please check your BMCC email inbox for this message, and forward to an external personal email address if needed.  We have sent the email to both your student email address and the external email address we have on file for all student accounts.  Please update your external email address at https://empowerweb.bmcc.edu/fusebox.cfm if needed.

Bay Mills Community College will be switching its Student Access Portal (email, apps, etc.) over to Microsoft Office 365 this weekend starting May 6th, 2022.  There will be expected disruptions of service over the weekend as accounts are transferred; this should resolve by Monday, May 9th, 2022.

HOW WILL I LOG IN?

  1. Go to https://office.com
  2. Your “Sign In email (user ID/username) is your BMCC email address.
  3. Your default password follows the format of bmcc#######! with "#######" representing your 7-digit student ID number.  Be sure to include the exclamation point at the end.  For example, if your student ID number is "1234567" then the password will be as shown on the line below:
    bmcc1234567!

When typing your password, be sure to include the exclamation point [ ! ] that appears at the end.

You can find the BMCC Apps, such as Moodle, The Bookstore, Starfish, TRiO, Empower, and others under the App button on the upper-LEFT corner of the https://office.com page.

NOTE:  At this time, the EmpowerWeb App will authenticate to your old Google Student account.  None of the remaining Apps will ask for this extra step.

Our reasons for the upgrade:  Our goal is to simplify Single Sign-On (SSO) so BMCC users only have to memorize one password to reach all of the services that we offer. Currently, we utilize both Microsoft and Google accounts, which forces users to maintain two separate passwords on two systems.  An additional benefit to making Microsoft Office our primary authenticator service is that it provides everyone access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and Outlook – all under one account.

How to reach us if you need help: Please send an email to [email protected] or call 906-248-3354 and ask for the Information Technology Department.
