News

Jul 24, 2020

BMCC intends to reopen the College to in-person instruction starting August 31, 2020. This will entail many changes in operation to limit the exposure of students and staff to the coronavirus. Class sizes will be limited to approximately eight (8) students per classroom to accommodate social distancing, and masks must be worn in all BMCC facilities. Sanitizing stations will be available at all entrance doors, classrooms, and other strategic locations.

Large group gatherings will not be permitted at this time. Plastic barriers will be in place to protect students, instructors, and staff. Everyone should take the virus seriously and help prevent the spread by following all the recommended protocols to remain healthy.

We are also looking at processes to provide on-campus lunches, so no one has to go out to eat, which will help reduce the risk of exposure. This is the plan; however, should the pandemic result in another shut down for our area, we will be back to offering all instruction online. Please check this website for future updates.

Anyone not feeling well, students or staff, should make plans to go home until they feel better and/or quarantine if directed to do so by a medical professional. Students should communicate with their instructors to prevent falling behind. Staff should make arrangements with their supervisor to work remotely or take short-term leave in the event they are unable to come in.

We must all do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your patience.
