The Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts is a two-year degree program with 62 – 67 credit hours required. The Michigan Transfer Agreement must be met to earn this degree. Students must also complete at least 9 approved elective credits in one concentration area. This degree provides a strong foundation of general education requirements in preparation for transfer.
The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) has been created in an effort to increase the transferability of core college courses between community colleges and four-year colleges and universities in Michigan. Originally called the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers (MACRAO) Agreement, the MTA was implemented in the fall of 2014. To fulfill the Michigan Transfer Agreement, students must successfully complete at least 30 credits of coursework in six defined areas with at least a grade of 2.0 in each course.
